Patricia A. Ames, Esq. is affectionately referred to by friends, colleagues, and clients as "Trish".

Mrs. Ames is a Licensed Attorney in the State of New York, State of New Jersey, State of Pennsylvania, The District Court of New Jersey (Federal Court), The Eastern District of Pennsylvania (Federal Court), The Eastern District of New York (Federal Court), The Southern District of New York (Federal Court), and the United States Tax Court.

Mrs. Ames is a recipient of the 2022 National Academy of Family Law Attorneys award for Top 10 under 40 Family Lawyers in the State of Pennsylvania.  Mrs. Ames was also named one of the National Black Lawyers Top 100 in 2022.

Mrs. Ames is also a Highly Trained Divorce & Custody Mediator, and Highly Trained Civil Mediator.

 

Mrs. Ames received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 2008.

Mrs. Ames didn't wait until graduating law school  to start fighting for clients.  She participated in a legal clinic while still in law school, and zealously advocated for and won asylum on behalf of a victim fleeing sexual abuse by a member of a domestic militarized organization overrunning the client's country.  ​​

 

Mrs. Ames also worked with the Philadelphia County District Attorney's Office, the Philadelphia County Defender's Association, and the Kings County District Attorney's Office.  Through all of this experience, Mrs. Ames gained a wealth of valuable, practical knowledge in Criminal Law.

After graduating law school, and prior to forming Ames Law Group, Mrs. Ames spent a number of years representing children in Abuse and Neglect (DYFS / DCPP) litigation, on behalf of the State of New Jersey Office of the Law Guardian.  She later joined a Prominent Family Law Firm, where she zealously litigated all areas of Family Law, and related Criminal matters.
